Our hardworking residents deserve a voice on the Council and I aim to be that voice. I want the next generation to have the same opportunities I had to create a better life.
The City is in a unique position to improve the quality of life of our residents. I’m hearing from all age groups in every neighborhood that it’s important to provide a voice for workers, families, and the next generation on the Council. People are concerned about the risks of working families and young people leaving the City. People want the City to invest in the needs of its residents. Of course, people talk about roads, but they’re also stressing the need for affordable and workforce housing, diversifying career opportunities, and places and spaces for our youth.
elevating the needs of our workers is good for business, Strengthens our local economy, and is Necessary for the long term health of our City.
Our hardworking residents deserve a voice on the Council and I aim to be that voice. I want the next generation to have the same opportunities I had to create a better life.
The Need to balance The council
60% of our residents are under the age of 50. District 1 has four schools and one closed school site. But when attending Council meetings, committee meetings, and outreach events, I rarely see young people or working families there. This important segment of our town deserves representation.
Our council is made up of entirely of business owners and retirees. We absolutely need those perspectives and appreciate their service to the city. But our town has broader needs, and balancing the council will serve all of us in the short and long term.

I want everyone to have the same opportunities I had to create a better life.
I remember when a flat tire was a real hardship and when I was so exhausted that we ate “Kids Eat Free” at Denny’s more times than I can count. I also remember how proud I was to buy my first new car (a 2 door Toyota Tercel) and a tiny bungalow where I could plant roots for my son and me.
I’ve been fortunate to have opportunities to get ahead, little by little, thanks to a lot of hard work, perseverance, and support from my family and community.
