Together, we can create a community that offers opportunities, a sense of belonging, and hope — not just for ourselves, but for our neighbors and the next generation.

The City is in a unique position to improve the quality of life of our residents.  I’m hearing from all age groups in every neighborhood that it’s important to provide a voice for workers, families, and the next generation on the Council. People are concerned about the risks of working families and young people leaving the City. People are concerned about caring for visitors more than residents. Of course, people talk about roads, but they’re also stressing the need for affordable and workforce housing, diversifying career opportunities, and places and spaces for our youth.

elevating the needs of our workers is good for business, Strengthens our local economy, and is Necessary for the long term health of our City.

Our hardworking residents deserve a voice on the Council and I aim to be that voice. I want the next generation to have the same opportunities I had to create a better life.

Kris Beal for Paso Robles City Council

A New Voice

No matter where we come from, what we look like, or how much money we have, we all deserve the opportunity to thrive. We deserve to be represented by leaders who respect our challenges of today and share our hopes for the future.

All community members deserve to have a voice on the Paso Robles City Council who will bring their concerns to the table.

Together, we can create a Paso Robles that offers opportunities, a sense of belonging, and hope — not just for ourselves, but also for our neighbors and the next generation.

Meet Kris

I’m Collaborative and Community-Focused with a proven track record of bringing people together to solve problems. I’m ready to apply my Skills and experience and to serve the people of Paso Robles.

My family came to Paso Robles in the 1970s when I was a young girl. I was a 4-H member, a Pioneer Player, and a Paso Robles High School graduate. I earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Cal Poly. I was a single mom, a baseball mom, and a Bearcat mom. I led the Vineyard Team, a local non-profit, for 23 years where I brought together people with different interests to find common solutions. I’ve served the Latino community for decades through education, first generation scholarships, and volunteerism. I bring a different professional and life experience to the table that would bring balance to the council. LEARN MORE

“I grew up here and love this town. But I feel like my hometown is leaving some people behind. I trust Kris to be a voice on the council for all of us.”

Why I’m Running

I want everyone to have the same opportunities I had to create a better life.

I remember when a flat tire was a real hardship and when I was so exhausted that we ate “Kids Eat Free” at Denny’s more times than I can count. I also remember how proud I was to buy my first new car (a 2 door Toyota Tercel) and a tiny bungalow where I could plant roots for my son and me.

I’ve been fortunate to have opportunities to get ahead, little by little, thanks to a lot of hard work, perseverance, and support from my family and community.

I want the needs of Workers, Families, and Young People to be represented on the council.

60% of our residents are under the age of 50. District 1 has four schools and one closed school site. But when attending Council meetings, committee meetings, and outreach events, I rarely see young people or working families there.

I get it. When I was working and raising my son, I did not spend what little free time I had at Council meetings.

I’m committed to elevating the needs of young people and working families to ensure a healthy future for our community. I want to be that voice — A NEW VOICE.

Make New friends. Have Some Fun. There are many ways to support our Community effort.

I WISH…

young people could stay here to better themselves and contribute to our community rather than be forced to move because of the high cost of housing.

workers, the backbone of our thriving economy, were able to advance in their careers, support their families, and enjoy the Paso Robles that they helped to create.

businesses were more easily able to succeed and profit, as they provide essential products, services, and jobs we need for sustainable growth.
